Today, we’re dropping the baseline schedule for Saturday at Permaculture Picnic in Aztec, NM, May 9-11—and we couldn’t be more excited.

Talking to folks in person about this event has been incredible. But conveying it online? That’s been trickier. So, let me try to take you there. Let me pull you into the abyss of hope and understanding.

Imagine....the sun is coming up on a crisp day...you hear a river running...you hear birds chirping and can smell spring in the air. What's that over there? A sound in the distance...you walk toward the sound and as you get closer the smell of fresh brewed coffee is getting stronger and stronger. The fact that you ripped your shirt off screaming while your eyes were on break last night no longer makes you feel funny. It's all good, and the coffee is hot. The music is nice early morning down tempo...maybe even a harp....and this day begins in peace. And the coffee is free.

You walk across the river and gather with new friends and look up at the main stage from last night except instead of world class visuals you see images of compost under a microscope on the gigantic LED WALL. Navona is quietly showing you the difference between compost with mulch and compost without, and explaining the importance of mulch and mulch and mulch and more mulch because water and trees and air and if you see that fallen tree think of mulch...

From that talk, you walk north on the east side of the Animas River toward the OG Stage where Sam Bennett is speaking and everyone is checking in about the massive BIOCHAR excursion and demonstration from yesterda, you're taking notes. You could do this where you live.

After lunch, there we are again with Navona and Tim, walking the property mulching every spot that is bare and preparing the land for the upcoming festival season. There is so much work to do, and with every inch of mulch you spread, you have a new inspiration for your home garden but also, all of humanity.

The day begins to end, and with the lower light is another sound. We put away our notebooks and put on our hats and there we are back at the main stage for the music of eXY eZ b2b with Durango's own Disco Dolly!!

Afer a quick sunset break, the night begins. Enamour b2b with Jeremy Olander, both from Sweden, both World Class. From 11:00pm to 1:00am we'll get back the OG stage to break in our newest dancefloor and marvel at the Fruit Trees we just planted surrounding it.

Then the next day we do something very similar. Same with Friday.

Quick note on Jeremy Olander and the music choices for this event. As a well travelled Panda, some of the best rooms and events I've danced in have been to the consistent and relentless House/Trance/Techno genre. From Fatboy Slim on the Great Wall of China, to warehouse parties in Berlin, Thailand, New York and many more this music has always makes me smile.

When we made the initial list of potential headliners, Jeremy Olander's name jumped off the paper and as a long time listener but first time caller, I am so pumped to have him joining.

Feel free to sign up for these blog posts. I've missed writing. Will keep you interested, I swear.

Peace, Love, Pandas.
